BRIAN WOOLFORD

I spent my work life in Honolulu Hawaii with no time to travel or paint. In my mid-fifties, I retired and moved to Santa Barbara California where I paint abstract landscapes, read, volunteer for the local Food Bank, and work on my 100+ year home. When I travel I wake with dreams of the next chapter in my life and sometimes translate those images to canvas. I like to use recycled canvas which I adhere tissue paper to for a texture not achievable on the canvass. I believe that this technique both celebrates and embraces the imperfections inherent in both the painting and the painter.
