Danuta Bennett is a Santa Barbara-based artist known for her evocative abstract, architectural, and figurative art. Blending abstraction and realism, she crafts a distinct visual language using acrylics, oils, and pencils. Her minimalistic, often monochromatic palette enhances the harmony of her work, while her intricate rendering and manipulation of proportion create a sense of uncertainty and duality.
Born in Poland, when she earned her degrees and experienced the change from the communist era, she emigrated to the USA in search of artistic individuality. This led her to develop a style that merges cultural influences with personal experience. She co-founded the Aeolian Center for Psychotherapy and Creativity, exploring the intersection of psychology and art. An active figure in the local art community, she has served as Vice President of the Santa Barbara Art Association and is a member of the Los Angeles Art Association and the Santa Barbara Artists Studio Tour board.
Danuta’s work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Her digital art has also been featured in international publications and recently published in the “History of Psychology through Symbols” textbook as well as Children’s book.
