GREGORY BEEMAN

His series, “Call of the Ancients” reaches new heights and brings a contemporary touch to ancient mediums. The artist felt he was channeling otherworldly energies in the creation of this series and sure enough several spirit figures emerged (after the pieces dried) amidst the abstract figures of these pieces. Some were so detailed, they appeared to have body types and clothing from bygone eras (one appeared to be a prisoner from Alcatraz) and appeared to be trying to communicate specific emotions. Some of the images and faces that emerged were so ghostly and ethereal that Gregory actually covered them up, essentially burying them in layers so they would no longer distract the artist from his work. Some of the pieces took months to complete, going through complete metamorphosis along the way. This was a physical, mental and spiritual struggle and a journey that brought the artist to a realization that he did not control the art, that he was simply channeling the energies that were present and working through him. The pieces in the Call of the Ancients series are timeless and captivating and will be part of Gregory Beeman’s legacy. Still relatively undiscovered by the art world, Gregory Beeman is poised to be one of the most distinguished and unique artists of our time. Look for his newest series ZION RISING!
